Is there a Problem with Income tax refunds this year?

I heard, probably stupid, rumors that we may not get refunds? Anyone have any answers?

      You’re correct. Nothing but stupid rumors. If you’re entitled to a refund, you will receive it on time.

      Unless our government suddenly collapses or is taken over by a military coup, we will of course get income tax refunds. All a refund is, is extra money that you paid in taxes throughout the year. For instance, if you had $5000 taken out of your paychecks for taxes over the course of the year, and when you completed your tax return you found out that you really owed $4000 in taxes, that means you will get a $1000 refund check.

      Now, if you meant the stimulus check, so far there are no plans for a new round of checks this year.

      You said it – they’re stupid rumors. Don’t worry about it. If you have a refund coming, you’ll get it.
